Skins is a hole by hole scrap. Every hole is worth a skin, and you have to win it outright to claim it. Tie the hole with anyone and the skin carries to the next, so the pot can build up fast.
First create an event (see Creating an event), then set the Main game to Skins. You can also run Skins as the Side game alongside another format, so the same scores feed two competitions at once.
Choosing Skins
- On the event setup screen, tap Main game.
- Choose Skins from the list. The blurb reads "Win a hole outright to claim the skin."
- Finish the rest of the setup as normal and start the event.
How it scores
GolfHandicapp plays net Skins, so handicap strokes are applied per hole before anyone is compared.
- On each hole, everyone's net score is worked out.
- The single lowest net wins the hole and takes the skin.
- If two or more players share the lowest net, the hole is halved. Nobody wins it, and that skin carries to the next hole.
- A carried skin stacks on top, so the next hole's winner takes the lot.
Players are ranked by total skins won, most first. A hole worth three carried skins counts as three for whoever finally wins it.
Skins are sequential, so the leaderboard only resolves holes everyone has finished. If one player hasn't posted a hole yet, the pot sits live on that hole until they do, rather than being awarded ahead of them. That's why a half finished round can show skins still "in the pot".
Handicaps
Skins uses each player's net score, so handicaps matter. The Handicap allowance toggle decides how much: off means full handicap, on applies the 95% WHS allowance. See Creating an event for where to set it.
