Terms of Service
Last updated: April 2026
These terms govern your use of the GolfHandicapp mobile app and any related services we provide ("the Service"). By creating an account, subscribing, or using the Service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please don't use the Service.
GolfHandicapp is operated by Amersham Web Services Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales. References to "we", "our", and "us" mean Amersham Web Services Ltd.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to create a GolfHandicapp account. If you're under 18, please use the Service only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. The Service is offered for personal, non-commercial use.
2. Your account
You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials secure and for the activity that takes place under your account. Tell us promptly at support@golfhandicapp.com if you believe your account has been used without your permission. The information you provide on sign-up and in your profile must be accurate and kept up to date.
3. Subscriptions, free trial, and pricing
GolfHandicapp offers a paid subscription with two pricing options:
- Yearly: £19.99 per year
- Monthly: £2.99 per month
New subscribers receive a 30-day free trial of the chosen plan. You will not be charged during the trial. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, your subscription will start automatically and the price above will be charged to your Apple ID or Google account.
After the initial period, your subscription renews automatically at the same price for successive periods (yearly or monthly, depending on the plan). You can cancel renewal at any time:
- iOS: Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions → GolfHandicapp → Cancel
- Android: Google Play → Profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → GolfHandicapp → Cancel
Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period; your premium access continues until then. We do not store your payment card details — all payment is processed by Apple or Google under their respective terms.
Prices include VAT where applicable. We may change subscription prices or plans for future renewal periods; you'll be notified in advance and can cancel before the new price takes effect.
4. Refunds
Apple and Google handle billing and refund decisions for in-app subscriptions. Refund requests should be submitted through:
- iOS: reportaproblem.apple.com
- Android: support.google.com/googleplay/answer/2479637
We can't process refunds directly because we don't take payment directly. If a charge looks wrong to you, contact us at support@golfhandicapp.com and we'll help where we can.
UK consumers have a statutory 14-day right to cancel digital purchases. If you start using the subscription before 14 days have passed (for example by playing a round or accessing a premium feature), you waive that right and the subscription continues under the terms above.
5. What we provide
GolfHandicapp gives you tools to track rounds of golf and calculate an unofficial handicap index based on the World Handicap System (WHS) methodology. The handicap shown in the app is for personal tracking and recreational use. It is not a substitute for an official handicap issued by a national golf association (such as England Golf or the USGA), and competitions and clubs may not accept it as a verified handicap.
We make reasonable efforts to keep calculations accurate but we don't guarantee that results match official WHS implementations exactly, particularly during transition periods or when WHS rules change.
Course information shown in the app is sourced from public records, legacy imports, and user contributions. We don't guarantee its accuracy or completeness. Always verify scorecard details, ratings, and yardages with the course before relying on them.
6. Your content
When you record rounds, leave reviews, write comments, or upload images, you keep ownership of what you create. You give us a worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive licence to host, display, and distribute your content within the Service so we can show it back to you and to other users where relevant (for example public round feeds).
You confirm that any content you submit is yours to share — not copyrighted by someone else — and that you have permission for any other people who appear in or are identified by it. We may remove content that breaches these terms or that is reported and reviewed.
7. What you must not do
You must not:
- submit false or knowingly misleading scores, handicap data, or course information;
- harass, threaten, or abuse other users, or post content that is hateful, sexually explicit, or illegal;
- attempt to access another user's account, or to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the app;
- use automated tools, scrapers, or bots to interact with the Service, or otherwise interfere with how it operates;
- circumvent paywalls, share subscription access, or attempt to obtain premium features without paying.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules.
8. Account deletion and termination
You can request account deletion at any time from within the app (Settings → Account → Delete account) or by emailing support@golfhandicapp.com. We process deletion requests within 30 days. Deletion removes your profile, rounds, comments, follows, and reactions. Some anonymised, aggregated data may be retained for statistical purposes, and we may retain billing-relevant records as required by law.
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these terms, attempt to defraud the Service or another user, or if required by law. If we terminate without cause, we'll refund any pre-paid subscription balance covering the period after termination — subject to Apple's or Google's billing rules.
9. Intellectual property
GolfHandicapp, the GolfHandicapp name, logo, app design, and underlying code are owned by Amersham Web Services Ltd or our licensors. We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the app on devices you own or control, for as long as you comply with these terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or sublicense any part of the Service without our written permission.
10. Disclaimers
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". We make no warranties about uninterrupted operation, error-free results, or specific outcomes (handicap accuracy, course data correctness, etc.) beyond those that cannot be excluded under UK law.
Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you have paid us for subscription fees in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or (b) £100. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, or for lost profits, lost data, or business interruption.
Nothing in this section limits the rights you have as a consumer that cannot be waived under UK law.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. If we make a material change, we'll let you know via the app or by email before the change takes effect. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. If you don't agree with the changes, stop using the Service and (if you have one) cancel your subscription.
13. Governing law and jurisdiction
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute relating to them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where you are a consumer domiciled in another part of the UK and have the right to bring claims in your local courts under applicable law.
