Whenever you create an event or log a round, GolfHandicapp asks you to pick the course you are playing. The same course picker is used in both places, so once you know it, you know it everywhere. Here is how to find the right course quickly.
Search by name, town, or postcode
- Tap into the search box at the top of the course picker.
- Type the course name, the town, or the postcode.
- Results appear once you have typed at least two letters. Each one shows the course name and its location.
- Tap the course to pick it.
Many clubs share a name or sit in the same town. Use the town and postcode shown on each result to make sure you choose the right one.
Nearby and recent
If you have not typed anything yet, two quick tabs help you skip the search.
- Nearby lists courses close to you, with the distance in miles. The first time you use it, allow location access so the app knows where you are.
- Recent lists courses you have played before, newest first, for one tap re entry.
When a course name varies
Clubs are not always listed under the exact name on the sign at the gate. If your first search comes up short, try these.
- Search the town or postcode instead of the club name.
- Try a shorter version of the name. Drop words like "Golf Club" or "and Country Club" and search the distinctive part on its own.
- Check for a common alternative spelling, or the older name if the club has rebranded.
Setting up a competition? Courses that do not yet have a rated scorecard show as locked with No scorecard data, because stroke play and Stableford need a rated tee to score. Pick a course that is not locked, or add the scorecard when you log a casual round.
If you have searched every way and your course genuinely is not there, see Requesting a course.
